I wanted to cover a topic today that’s pretty common and it’s the habit of thinking, “I’ll be happy when I get XYZ.” So in other words, I’ll be happy when I get that new car. I’ll be happy when I can retire. I’ll be happy when it’s time for my vacation. I’ll be happy when I get that new house. I’ll be happy when my business takes off, what have you. So it’s pretty common for people to think that way, but the problem with it is obviously that you’re robbing yourself of the happiness right now.
And so I’m going to go through a little tapping exercise with you today to try and change this pattern of thinking because for two reasons. Number one, with the law of attraction you’re going to block whatever it is that you want to bring into your life if you are putting off feeling excited about that thing until you actually get it. So the whole key to the law of attraction is feeling excitement for that thing now and feeling joy, feeling happiness about it now. So if you’re not feeling that vibration, you’re going to make it that much harder if not impossible to attract that thing.
Now the other aspect of that statement, I’ll be happy when, is the word when, because you’re not sure if it’s ever going to happen … when you’re making a statement like that, I’ll be happy when. So it’s essentially a pattern of thought. It’s something pretty common and so I’d like to take you through a tapping exercise to make it a lot easier to be happy now, especially when you think about that thing that you desire. And you if you’re a female entrepreneur, I primarily work with female entrepreneurs on their money mindset. You’ll find this very helpful.
So let’s get started with our tapping.
Tapping on the karate chop point…
Even though I have this habit of thinking, “I’ll be happy when I achieve my goal or I realize my desire.”, I’m choosing to change this pattern of thought now.
Even though it has this pattern of thought that says, “I’ll be happy when …”, I’m open to changing this now so that I can be happy right now, especially when I think about that thing that I want.
Even though I have this habit of thinking that I’ll be happy at some point in the future when I obtain or achieve … obtain this thing or achieve my goal, I’m choosing to let go of this pattern now and allow happiness into my life now, today.
This pattern of thinking. This pattern of thinking. Putting off my happiness. Thinking that I’ll be happy when. I’m open to letting this go and I’m choosing happiness now because I can see now that this pattern of thinking is counterproductive, and it’s probably actually blocking what I want. So I’m choosing to let go have this pattern of thinking.
This pattern of thinking, “I’ll be happy when. I’ll be happy when I achieve my goal.” I’m choosing to let this go and I’m allowing myself to be happy now. I’m allowing myself to be happy now, thinking of the thing I desire as if I’ve already achieved it and letting in the happiness now and the excitement about receiving it. Letting go of any doubt and letting in positive expectation. I mean, what do I have to lose anyway? Even if I can just pretend and get excited about it, excited about achieving this thing that I want. I’m allowing myself to be excited about it, to visualize it and be happy about it.
It’s probably a whole heck of a lot better than putting off the happiness because as they say it’s about the journey, not the destination. So I’m choosing to be happy now, thinking about this goal that I intend to achieve or this thing that I intend to have or this way that I intend on being, that whole be, do, have thing. I choose to feel happy and excited now, allowing in excited anticipation because I know that what I want is on its way to me and probably a lot faster than I think. I might as well allow myself to be happy now.
And take a deep breath….
