In today’s video I thought what I would cover is the fear of asking for the sale with EFT tapping. So if you’re in a helping profession, such as, you’re a coach, a practitioner, a therapist and you sell packages or sessions to your client base or to prospective clients to help them with whatever problem they’re dealing with, whether it’s weight loss or marketing or growing their business, whatever the case, you may find that you have trouble asking for the sale.
So you book a strategy session with a potential client and you go through talking about what their issues are and then you propose a program for them and announce what your pricing is. That’s where a lot of people, if they don’t come from a sales background like myself, they have a lot of trouble asking for the sale and there’s a lot of fear and anxiety that comes up because they’re afraid of rejection or in any case they just feel awkward when it comes time to ask for the sale.
I want to help you feel more comfortable about that and less desperate to land those clients because it tends to work in reverse. The more desperate you are for the sale, the less likely you’re going to be able to land that sale and, land that client. I know this from personal experience, believe me, because I’ve been in sales for many, many years.
It’s better to be relaxed about it and you’re more likely to land the business that way, if you’re not desperate to get the sale.
Let’s start at a karate chop point.
Even though when it comes to the sale … I feel a lot of discomfort … in asking for my fee … for my program … I’m afraid I’m going to get rejected … and I deeply and completely accept myself …
Even though when it comes to sales situations … I feel a lot of discomfort … I feel a lot of discomfort around asking for the sale … because I really want to land that sale, I really want to land that customer … and it makes me feel uncomfortable … and maybe a little desperate … and I deeply and completely accept myself and all my feelings … all those feelings are perfectly normal …
Even though I feel a lot of discomfort around asking for the sale. I worry that I’ll be rejected … that maybe I’m asking too much … or I’m asking for too little … or that I won’t be able to deliver … on the promised results … sometimes I feel maybe a little desperate … to land that client … because I have bills to pay … and it makes me anxious when I ask for the sale … because I need it … I deeply and completely accept myself … and all my feelings
I get anxious when I ask for a sale … I get anxious when I tell them my price for my program … I worry I’ll get rejected … maybe I’m asking too much … or maybe I’m asking too little. I’m not sure if I’m conveying the value properly to my prospects … maybe they won’t see the value … and they’ll reject me … I’m worried that they’ll reject me … and I really need that sale … I need that sale so that I can pay my bills … so that I can take that vacation … so that I can buy things that my kids need … all this pressure … all this pressure to make this sale
It makes me uncomfortable … all this pressure to make this sale … I really feel anxious about it … because I need the sale … and I’m afraid I’m going to get rejected … or people will get angry … maybe they’ll get angry. Somehow it feels like I should be offering this service for free … sometimes it feels that way … it feels that way sometimes in the helping profession … that I should be offering my services for free … so maybe there’s a little bit of guilt going on there too
And maybe I’ve had clients in the past suggest that I should be offering a discount … or offering my services for free … because they really need it … but that’s not fair … and that only limits me from being able to serve more people in my market. So I choose to feel confident about my fees … my fees for my programs … and I’m choosing to let go of this anxiety and guilt … maybe that comes from my childhood … probably comes from my childhood … somewhere in my past … I asked a parent or a guardian for money … or a toy … and I was told “no”
I’m choosing to release this … releasing these old memories from childhood … because this is a different time … and a different situation. And I choose to let go of expecting a specific outcome for the sale … when I ask for the sale … I’m choosing to have positive expectation … and I’m choosing to release any … requirement for any particular outcome … releasing any expectation or particular outcome … releasing any need to feel desperate … releasing this need for the sale … and trusting that the right customers … the right clients … will be willing to do business with me
I’m releasing the need for everybody to say yes … not everybody needs to say yes … and I don’t need them to … and there’s this saying in sales … that every “no” brings you closer to your yes … so I’m choosing to release this pressure … this pressure for landing a sale … and I’m choosing to feel calm and confident … and letting it all go.
Take a deep breath and let it out. Hopefully that takes the edge off.
